ABOUT Alan Caplin, ABR, Realtor®
I’ve enjoyed living in the Boston area for over 25 years. As we all know, this area has so much to offer those who make their home here. Currently, I am Principal Broker and owner of iDomain Real Estate. After several years of working for real estate companies like Prudential and William Raveis, I decided it was time to follow my vision and start my own company. Now I feel I can do more for my clients than ever before. My focus is the Boston metro area including the Longwood Medical Area, Back Bay, Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, Somerville, Belmont, Jamaica Plain, Brighton among other places. I’ve also done transactions around Rt. 128, such as recently in Lincoln. I also specialize in working with medical professionals. I feel I can serve their unique set of needs, due to the nature of their work and schedule.
I am a member of the Boston Real Estate Board and the National Association of Realtors. In addition to listing properties I also have my accreditation as a buyer’s representative (ABR) from National Association of Realtors. I am also a real estate investor and own income producing property in the Boston area.
Guiding Philosophy:
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate agent. Of most importance is the ability to discover and address the diverse needs, wants, expectations and concerns of my clients. This only comes by sincerely caring about people, combined with practical experience and a lot of education. That said, I’ve found the ability to listen and be sensitive to people's needs as the essence of good service and I am dedicated to producing results my clients will be happy with whether they are selling or buying a home. My long-term business plan and success is built on client referrals and testimonials.
Please take a look at comments from my past clients on my web-site: www.idomainhomes.com . After all, there are many things I could say about myself to market my services, but they won’t have the same credibility as a testimonial from someone who appreciates the quality of service that I provide. Then give me a call and let's schedule some time together. We can then completely review the process of buying or selling a home. There are few things more exciting than moving into your new house and turning it into a home!
In the end result, I've found my Real Estate career to be very rewarding in that it combines continual personal and professional growth while at the same time, helping people fulfill their real estate needs, whether it be buying or selling a home.
Personal History:
Prior to my real estate career, I was a graphic designer for many years. After that, I became President and owner of Biograph Records Inc., an independent music label that specialized in preserving historic jazz, blues and ragtime, music that has it’s roots in America.
After selling the business in 2002, I decided to work in real estate because it allowed me to continue to work in an entrepreneurial field. I’ve found my former experiences have given me an excellent basis for my career in real estate, especially in regards to my design sense, marketing and general business knowledge.
My college years were spent at Northeastern University here in Boston and then at the State University of NY at Stony Brook where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, a subject that has undeniably come in handy as a real estate agent.
Interests:
My interests include travel and have been to Italy(Florence, Milan, Rimini), France(Paris), Finland(Helsinki), Sweden(Stockholm, Gothenburg, Kalmar), Norway(Oslo), Holland(Amsterdam), Canada(Toronto) and Denmark(Copenhagen). Also many locations in the Caribbean including Puerto Rico, Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica and the Bahamas. Not to mention domestically, I’ve been to many states: DE, DC, CA, NY, OH, MI, WI, IA, SD, WY, AZ, CO, FL, ID, IL, ME, CT, VT, MT, NV, NH, NJ, OR, PA, RI, UT, WA, VA and WV. National Parks: Yellowstone, Black Hills, Glacier, Yosemite, Zion, Grand Canyon and Redwood.
I also enjoy biking, especially on the Esplanade. I ski. I’m also an avid frisbee player. I have a great interest and love in a wide variety of music having grown up in a family that’s very involved in music personally and professionally.
Lastly, I find a good sense of humor is key in life, so enjoy!
